Ah Shit!

Excuse the foul language, but I am shocked by the sudden passing of George Carlin.

I loved his comedy and he provided so many of us with great performances, truly wonderful wit, and a passion to entertain all of us in ways we will never forget.

I did not need this terrible news at the beginning of a week that will be remembered for a long, long, long time.

For Your Information, SRHS 15

On Tuesday June 24, 2008, the Board of Education of the Los Angeles Unified School District will take up a motion to change the number of seats projected for South Region High School #15 (SRHS 15) from 1,205 seats, down to 810-seats.

SRHS 15 is currently projected to be built on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur.

If you remember, in May, 2007, the Board of Education lowered the number of projected seats of South Region High School #14 (SRHS 14) down from 2,025-seats, to 810-seats.SRHS 14 was projected to be built within the Ponte Vista at San Pedro site.

Later in 2007 the Board of Education decided to 'mothball' SRHS 14 and not build it, at this time, to relieve overcrowding at Narbonne High School.

Where might these developments leave us, concerning Ponte Vista?

If the Board of Education lowers the number of projected seats for SRHS 15 down to the number of projected seats of SRHS 14, then opponents of building SRHS 15 on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur may attempt to have the location of SRHS 15 moved to either the Ponte Vista at San Pedro site, or another site in northwest San Pedro.

I need to state that I have suggested to many opponents of building SRHS 15 on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur, that I feel building SRHS 15 at the current site of Cooper/Science Center facilities along Taper Avenue and Barrywood/Sandwood Place, makes some sense.

SRHS 15 is currently projected to be built approximately 8/10 of a mile south of San Pedro High School and that much further out on the Palos Verdes peninsula.

Alma Street in the area of Angel's Gate is a curvy, narrow, non-arterial road that cannot handle a new campus of any size. The Point Fermin Outdoor Education Center, which has been in operation for about 20 yearshas been approved for a redevelopment that will allow up to 13,000 students, per year, overnight educational experiences lasting 3 or 4 days AND nights.

A new high school campus should not be built directly next to the redeveloped Outdoor Education Center.

With the 'mothballing' of SRHS 14 at Ponte Vista, there would be room created ("6-8 acres" according to documents concerning an 810-seat SRHS 14) so that SRHS 15 could be built within the Ponte Vista site.

Opponents of building a new high school campus near Angel's Gate also contend that it would be more convenient to build a new campus closer to four-lane access routes like Western, Gaffey, and Westmont.

Whether you support Bob's current plans or not, we all need information about what might happen concerning SRHS 15. I think it is important to OUR community to learn as much as they can about the projected new campus.

The group spearheading opposition to building SRHS 15 and building it on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur is: Neighborhoods Organized and Involved to Support Education (NOISE).

As a founding Board member of that organization, I am opposed to SRHS 15 being built where it is currently projected to be built for two reasons: 1)There MUST NOT be a new high school campus built directly next to the redeveloped Point Fermin Outdoor Education Center 2) There is no safe and sufficient means to transport students, faculty, staff, deliveries, and visitors to any new campus WITHOUT taking, by eminent domain, at least one house and lot along 30Th Street to provide access via a signalized intersection at Gaffey Street and 30th Street.

I have since left the Board of NOISE and am working hard to oppose Bob's current plans for Ponte Vista, working as a Traffic Safety Commissioner for the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, becoming more involved with the redevelopment of the Port of L.A. waterfront, becoming more concerned with the Clearwater Program, and trying to find a job within AT&T after my hip replacement that denied me the opportunity to return to my old job. Please remember that you should stand up for something before you fall for anything. Please remember that, now more than ever.

A Three-Blog Post for a Great Community Event

This is the first post which will appear on three of my blogs.

The Mary Star of the Sea Fiesta is scheduled for July 18-20, 2008.

While I was collecting signatures on postcards for the Public Hearing outside Von's at 25Th and Western, I learned that an organizer for the Fiesta was denied permission to place posters for the upcoming event inside the store.

I think the rebuke by Von's manager was quite poor, especially because it is the 61st annual Fiesta and it certainly is one of OUR community's honored, valued, and enjoyed events.

So I decided to do a first regarding some of my blogs and post the same information on three different blogs.

Real San Pedrans and good individuals who continue to strive to become Real San Pedrans know that the Mary Star of the Sea Fiesta is just an event that must be attended.

Can Real San Pedrans count how many Italian or Fish Dinners they have eaten over the years at the Fiesta? I know I can't.

I am not even a member of the Catholic religion, yet I still enjoy attending the Fiesta. It's interesting to see how many different rides, booths, and other things can be packed into the space at the Church site.

Real San Pedrans and wonderful others contribute by helping to select the Fiesta Queen and the campaigning all over OUR community is great!

So poo-poo to the manager at Von's. Just look around at many other businesses in OUR community and I bet you will find the multi-colored poster in many, many windows.

If you have never attended the Fiesta, please plan on attending this year.

If you can already taste the dinners served every year at the Fiesta, please enjoy yet another fine meal. The Mary Star of the Sea Fiesta, a great event in OUR community.

Odds and Ends: Another One

Hey Bob, Alan, and Elise, my support for your current plans for Ponte Vista can be purchased, too.

Here is all that I want before I change my ways:

A new road between Ponte Vista/Mary Star and Gaffey Street. You will need to put funds into escrow for that BEFORE the Public Hearing.

I would also like a new set of ramps to and from the 110 Freeway to the new road, using the area between the warehouses and the refinery. Again, you will need to put the funds for this into an escrow account before June 26th, 2008.

Yesterday I thought I wanted a new Smart Car. Now I want a Honda Hybrid because both of my sons have '08 Honda Civics and I need to keep up with my boys. Please place my brand new Honda Civic Hybrid, blue please, outside my home by this Sunday. Leave the title to the Civic in my mailbox if I am not home.

I would also like a ride on the Goodyear Blimp. This must be provided either this coming Monday or Tuesday.

When all of these issues are completely settled in MY opinion, then I will write a new post supporting whatever you want. You must be advised that any and all of my aliases will continue to strongly oppose your current plans. I will also have others write posts condemning your current plans.

See, isn't it easy to be able to have your support for Bob's current plans purchased?

Now, you should all find whatever you want in the way of purchase prices, for your support for Bob's current plans.

We all know that none of what Bob has 'bought' from businesses, individuals, and groups will be good unless he gets what he wants. But there is no real way for that to ever happen, so many of us believe.

It is probably too soon to see how much Eastview Little League will actually lose by its management selling the kids and their dreams to Bob Bisno.

I think just about everyone critical of EVLL will now be even more critical of that group's management.

I think folks who were sympathetic or sitting on the fence, will now find themselves quickly standing on the side of the fence that is critical of the management of EVLL.

I think weak supporters of the continuing plight of EVLL and their struggles because their lack of vision for their own future, for so many years, will become unsympathetic of EVLL's plight when their deal with Bob falls apart.

I think even strong supporters of EVLL, who oppose Bob's current plans at Ponte Vista, will feel sold out by the management of the league.Again it seems, the management of EVLL lost sight of the league's future, for a quick fix that really won't ever happen, many of us feel.
_________________________________________________

So, who is actually going to have to pay for the Eastview Little League IF they were to get new fields at Ponte Vista?

Don't you think prospective buyers of potential units in the senior section will not feel too kindly to the increase in price to pay for the ball fields and land for Eastview Little League.

Might the Yuppies who don't and won't ever want children if and when they move into Ponte Vista object to having the price of their units attached to the 'gift' of land Bob is attempting to give away?

After all this recent marketing, and all the new support Bob is paying to attract, do you really believe Bob will 'eat' any of his potential profit, for Eastview Little League?_______________________________________________

As with Lincoln Place in Santa Monica, when the going gets tough, the Bob gets going.....away.Bob no longer owns any of that project, having finally sold out his remaining interest to the largest rental management business in the U.S.A.
_______________________________________________

Don't you wonder who Bob will try and purchase support from, next?

You may guess and make your comments on who you think will be the next to sell out OUR community to Bob and his bunch.
_______________________________________________

Before the banner adorning Butch's Auto Repair business blew, too many times onto the roof, it displayed opposition to Bob's current plans for Ponte Vista.

Have any of you seen banners, fliers, or other written material supporting Bob's current plans for Ponte Vista at Papadakis Taverna, Herb Zimmer's printing business, Taxco, Apple One, or anywhere else, for that matter.

The Rudderless Steering Committee of R Neighbors Are 1 has received many new requests for lawn signs. I bet you won't see that from Ponte Vista supporters.
______________________________________________

As for supporting Ponte Vista, I do support Ponte Vista remaining R1-1XL, and OS1-1XL.
______________________________________________

We all have only six more days to create, mail, Email, or save for the Public Hearing, our written comments concerning what we feel Bob should be allowed to build.

In my first set of comments, snail-mailed in last week, I illustrated all the other developments in the area that are, will, and probably will come online over the next several years, in OUR community.

I am still writing my second set of comments and have six pages written, so far, on why Bob's current plans will absolutely NOT work in OUR community.

Please think of how Ponte Vista, built using Bob's current plans will affect your quality of life, as well as your family's quality of life and their overall future in OUR community.
___________________________________________

Now that the South Region High School #14 plans for building an 810-seat senior high school at Ponte Vista to ease over crowding of Narbonne H.S. has been mothballed, a new direction has been revealed by some members of OUR community.

Many members of OUR community do not want any new high school campus built on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur. On June 24, the LAUSD Board of Education is taking up the motion to lower the number of seats at the planned South Region High School #15, from 1,205 seats, down to 810-seats.

If this does take place, there will be an even greater call to use the "6-8 acres" LAUSD states it needs to build an 810-seat campus, at Ponte Vista, in northwest San Pedro.

Thousands of members of OUR community believe building a new campus 8/10 of a mile south of San Pedro High School and further out on the peninsula, make less sense than building the new campus on the north side of San Pedro. If SRHS 15 becomes a 810-seat campus, look forward to a strong fight to build it closer to where more students actually live, and closer to central and north San Pedro.

Desperate, It Looks Like Bob Resorts to Using Children

How low might Bob go?

According to an article in the June 18th edition of The Daily Breeze, http://www.dailybreeze.com/ci_9630723, Bob is now willing to "give" three ball fields to Eastview Little League, on the Ponte Vista at San Pedro site.

Whether this trick, in my opinion is legal, is a whole different story.

It seems Bob "inked" a deal with Eastview Little League, a private organization, to provide the land and give $20 Million Dollars to donate and develop the site.

The article indicated that he would deed the 6-acre site (Well, where in the heck will the "public park" be?) over to the L.A. City Department of Parks and Recreation and that Eastview Little League would have use of the land for their private group.

If we remember, Bob attempted this stunt when he first marketed Ponte Vista.Of the 600 families that were supposed to support his plans for 2,300 condos, or no ball fields, only approximately SEVENTEEN families acknowledged support for that weapon of mass development, according to a reliable source.

Now Bob, is a clear show of desperation, according to some, has gone back to using children in attempts to garner more support for a project that would change the character and quality of life in an entire community, and not for the better, many feel.

Of course, just about everything Bob is plying as 'community benefits' is based on whether he gets his 1,950 units, or not.

Does anyone in their correct mind think Bob won't hold OUR community hostage by stating that if he doesn't get what he wants, all the 'community benefits' he claims he will provide will vanish when and if he ever actually get approval for anything on the 61.53 acre site?

NOTHING HAS LEGALLY BEEN DECIDED BY DECISION MAKERS WHO WILL APPROVE ANYTHING AT PONTE VISTA!

The deal Bob and Eastview Little League could have been inked using blood, but that still doesn't mean any new ball fields will ever get built at Ponte Vista.

If and I mean if any area of the Ponte Vista site is deeded over to the L.A. City Department of Parks and Recreation, the area would become owned, basically, by the residents of all of Los Angeles.

Should a private organization like Eastview Little League be granted exclusive rights to use those fields, without appropriate compensation to the City of L.A.?

I was happy to play in Eastview Little League in 1964. I didn't care that the group was using fields on private property and that they apparently paid $1.00 per year for the use of that area.

Let's see if leaders of Eastview Little League show up to the Public Hearing on June 26 and spout support for Bob's current plans. If that happens, we know one thing......Bob and those leaders are willing to use children as a ploy to seek approval for a development that must NEVER be the size Bob wants.

Interesting Trivia for Those Opposing Bob's Current Plans

Last Saturday, a small band of dedicated members of the Rudderless Steering Committee of R Neighborhoods Are 1 stood outside the Albertson's Supermarket on Western Avenue and collected signatures to be presented to the Hearing Officer at the upcoming Public Hearing.

225 cards were tallied when all was said and done.

124 cards were from concerned residents of San Pedro.

101 cards were from concerned residents of other cities in the greater L.A. area.

To be sure, the vast majority of the 101 cards not from folks who live in San Pedro came from very concerned residents of Rancho Palos Verdes.

But R.P.V. was certainly not the only other area. There are cards from residents of Harbor City, Lomita, Wilmington, Artesia, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and wherever zip code 90805 is.

Many, many more cards will be collected and either handed over to the Hearing Officer or mailed in to the address listed on the cards, prior to the hearing.

If you haven't filled out a card and wish to do so, you can find one to download at:

www.pontevista.blogspot.com

It just takes probably much less than one minute to sign the card, put your address on it and bringing your own to the Hearing, or mailing it to the Planning Department.

You may even be afforded the opportunity to meet and talk to a member of R Neighborhoods Are 1 who you can learn more information from and provide them with your signature and information so they can save you the postage by handing it to the Hearing Officer.

Now please be reminded that absolutely nothing has been paid to anyone from R Neigborhoods Are 1 or any other organization that opposes Bob's plans, to collect anything.

However, every single piece of paper, card stock, or anything else collected in support of Bob's plans has been touched by at least one person who was and is being paid to deal with items Bob collects.

R Neighborhoods Are 1 is an all-volunteer grass roots organization which is fighting against development plans that are being paid for.

Our Outreach Team earns only pride with their efforts.

Their Outreach Team may come to regret what they are being paid to do.

A Notice of Some Possible Added Trouble

Here is a notice I received on Saturday.
Click over notice to enlarge.

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is apparently caving to mass opposition to building a 1,205-seat senior high school on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur.

Do I believe they will only build a "810-seat" campus if they get approval to build South Region High School #15 (SRHS 15) where many of the community calls Angel's Gate?

NOPE!

I think this is a trick to get by the massive opposition, including opposition form Dr. Richard Vladovic and Councilwoman Janice Hahn, to building such a large campus so close to the ocean.

I also doubt that IF they get their 810-seat campus they won't, at some point down the road, say; Oops! We really needed that 1,205-seat school, so we have to add another 405 seats.

It also seems like LAUSD's argument that if all of the land isn't used a Charter School might come in and take land, may also be false.

How might the lowering of the size of the purposed campus affect the issues surrounding Ponte Vista.

In May, 2007 LAUSD changed their minds concerning South Region High School #14 (SRHS 14) and their attempts to build a 2,025-seat senior high school on 15.03 acres of Ponte Vista land.

LAUSD, before they finally decided to 'mothball' those plans, stated that they would build an "810-seat" campus at Ponte Vista to relieve over crowding at Narbonne H.S.

The Ponte Vista site is within the boundaries of Narbonne.

I have heard at least one individual suggest he would allow for greater than R1 density at Ponte Vista if LAUSD were given land at Ponte Vista for a new campus.

I don't like this idea, but it may be something supporters and others might want to use as a bargaining chip, but I hope not.

SRHS 14, when it was downsized from 2,025-seats to 810-seats, would have required between 6-8 acres, according to LAUSD.

I don't want Bob to have the option of suggesting he would donate 6-8 acres for a new campus. He might consider omitting the "public park" at Ponte Vista, in order to have space for a new school.

We don't need another school with its only student and parent access being Western Avenue.
It's bad enough that Mary Star has two access points but parents and students driving to that school must use Western.

Do we need another public, regular high school in San Pedro? Perhaps we do and perhaps we don't.

Might opponents of a new campus at Angel's Gate find more favor in demanding that a 810-seat campus be built at Ponte Vista or the Cooper/Science Center site along Taper Avenue, Barrywood and Sandwood?

These are not questions I want to find answers for at this time.

The many issues concerning Ponte Vista are coming back into play with the scheduled Public Hearing by the Planning Department.

I oppose any new school campus being built next to the Point Fermin Outdoor Education Center, but I sure do not wish to have to fight against having an 810-seat school being considered at Ponte Vista or northwest San Pedro.

Please Take A Look At Other Blogs

Lots and lots of things are happening, exspecially with the Ponte Vista at San Pedro issue.

Right now I am concentrating on placing more items on my: www.pontevista.blogspot.com blog that you may find very interesting and even a bit funny.

I'll try to create more posts on this blog as time permits.

I also have another blog at: www.sanpedroissuestoponder.blogspot.com. I have also been quite tardy in adding important information about issues other than Ponte Vista, on that blog.

I will try to get information about LAUSD's newest attempts at gaining support for a new high school campus on the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur.

The LAUSD Board of Education is going to take up the issue of scaling back their number of seats they have been requesting at SRHS 15, from 1,205 down to 810.

Personally, I think this is just a smoke screen, trick, or any other term you can think of to gain more support for building a new large campus where it just doesn't belong.

It is a great issue to ponder and we will do that later this evening.

Right now it is Father's Day. I am a dad so I get to have one of my sons take me out and around today. I'll get another Father's Day when my other son comes camping with the Page clan at the beginning of August.

To all dads everywhere, happy Father's Day!

The Latest Mailing

First off, I contacted the Outreach Team at Ponte Vista and requested that my name be removed from any and all lists that suggest I support Bob's current plans in any way. I was informed that my name would be removed "in June" and I believe that has happened.

However, I have been recently informed by a number of folks that they received a mailing from Ponte Vista even though they claim they have never signed anything that would indicate any support for any of Bob's plans.

Perhaps the Outreach Team has had to resort to mass mailings to individuals who were not listed as being a supporter of Ponte Vista.

I can certainly understand this case, if that is what is actually happening. Having to resort to unsolicited advertisement may mean that they are grasping at straws.

I am glad that they didn't include a return card seeking more support for their project.

I've had people bring me the latest card/mailing and ask me why they have received it. I can't confirm to them why they received it, but I can certainly opine as to why they got sent what they got sent.

One very honest friend told me that she received the mailer and it looked like it was addressed exactly as her voter registration appears. I doubt that Ponte Vista would be allowed to use voter addresses, but there must be lots of lists of addresses available for purchase.

It may also be true that folks in non-90275 zip codes received the mailer because no one I know of, who lives in 90275 got one. But there may be folks in that zip code that received it, but haven't informed me.

It seems to me that Bob is really turning up the faucet on his marketing budget. We are still months and months away from the time where the Planning Department reveals what they think Bob could build. It may be true that Bob is trying to gain more support prior to the June 26 hearing so more folks will come out in support of his plans for Ponte Vista.

It's Bob's money. It's Bob's Outreach Team. We all must remember that "Bob's profit will come at your expense".

So even though it seems like Bob is spending marketing money hand over fist, that doesn't mean for one second that he should be granted any more support for his plans. It does mean however, that opponents to Bob's current plans must work that much harder to tell all those who will listen, the truth of what Bob's plans might do to OUR community.

I hope everyone will write and speak to the Hearing Officer by June 26 and provide your own reasons why you should not have to put up with such a huge development in YOUR community.

Don't worry about the inadequate seating in the auditorium on June 26. There will probably be a giant screen to show the Hearing to folks gathered in the parking lot. Bring your lawn chairs and your good humor, please.

Let's all try and count the times supporters of Bob's use the word, "affordable" when talking about the market-rate housing that Bob really plans on providing. It should be quite a hoot!

June 26 Flier and More!

Public Hearing
Thursday, June 26
5:00 p.m.
Cabrillo Beach Aquarium

STOP THE MASSIVE PONTE VISTA DEVELOPMENT

Don’t let the City approve thousands of condominiums and thousands of cars a day on Western Avenue. Tell the Planning Department you SUPPORT keeping single family R1 zoning.

The developer’s profit is your loss.

If you can’t attend,
send your written comments to:

Los Angeles Planning Department
CPC 2006-8043-GPA-ZC-SP-DA
200 N. Spring Street, Room 621Los Angeles, CA 90012
or Email comments to david.olivo@lacity.org

Tell them you SUPPORT R1 zoning at Ponte Vista and OPPOSE subdividing the property and amending the community plan.

www.RneighborhoodsAre1.org
____________________________________________________________

Please provide oral and/or written testimony created with your own mind and not like so many supporters of Bob's current plans, who seem to repeat the same items over and over again.

Supporters will tout that Ponte Vista will provide a great economical impact to San Pedro, but the truth is that most of the economic benefit/proceeds from sales of goods will actually be garnered by businesses within a five-mile radius of Ponte Vista, but NOT within the City of Los Angeles.

There are no large major appliance stores, new car dealerships, upscale home furnishing stores, multi-plex theaters, or major shopping malls within five miles of Ponte Vista that will contribute to sales tax revenues for Los Angeles, where they would be needed to fund the added infrastructure required to keep a giant Ponte Vista project going.

"Bob Bisno and Ponte Vista will fund major traffic improvements." This is one of the most disturbing things supporters still claim and claim and claim and claim.

The actual fact is that there are 127 signalized intersections within the area that will have their management upgraded at taxpayers' expense prior to seeing one penny of funds from Bob Bisno be sent in to do the very thing Bob and his supporters claim will be done for those intersections.

One thing everyone must remember that IF Bob doesn't get what he currently wants, in terms of number of units at Ponte Vista, there is absolutely no written guarantee that he will provide all the "community benefits" he is currently offering.

Both Bob Bisno and I concur that there would be no requirement for him to continue to provide access through Ponte Vista for students, parents, and others going to and from the new Mary Star High School campus, IF the current zoning of the property continues to be mandated by the City of Los Angeles.

Bob would also probably not provide most of the other "community benefits" he is currently offering if the site remains with its current R1-1XL and O1-1XL zoning.

Bob may still be offering carrots, but you and everyone else would have to accept taking on such a large 'stick', for generations, that for thousands and thousands of us, it really isn't worth it.

Tell the hearing officer why you think and feel that this out-of-town developer really doesn't know what you want for YOUR community, no matter what he claims.

It is time to stop this madness and demand that the Ponte Vista site not become something that you will regret, yet you will have to live with, for as long as you live in this community.

I am going to copy the information just below and help provide a better way to create the outside of your envelopes and top of comments:

Written communications should cite the Case Number indicated at the top of this notice and may be mailed to the following location:

The Los Angeles City Planning Department
Community Planning Bureau West/Coastal Unit
200 N. Spring Street, Room 621
Los Angeles, CA 90012

Public Hearing Scheduled

A wonderful member of the Planning Department provided this reply to my Email inquiring about an upcoming public hearing regarding the Ponte Vista at San Pedro project.

Here is a copy of the body of the reply:

"A public hearing before a Hearing Officer and the Advisory Agency has been scheduled for June 26th. It will be at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium auditorium and will begin at 5:00 after the Aquarium closes. The purpose of the hearing is to take official public testimony and is not a decision making meeting. Notices before a Hearing Officer require a 24-day notice so people within a 500-feet radius of the project will be receiving notices shortly. There is no recommendation on the project from the Planning Department before the hearing. Planning Department recommendations are made after the public hearing where the Department considers all information gathered."

As I wrote in my comment to the comment left by "mellonhead" yesterday, I offered that the auditorium contains less than 300 permanent seats, so folks wishing to find a place to sit should probably arrive early.

We can all be sure that Bob will have lots and lots and lots of supporters attending the hearing, if there really are "lots" of supporters to his current plans left.

It is most important, beginning right now, to find the yard signs you may still have and put them back up in your yard! As Bob has been seeking more support recently for his current plans, we must also show our opposition to his 'weapon of mass development' and let everyone know that we are still around, still strong, and currently still willing to only accept R1 NO COMPROMISE!

POSSIBLE Hearing Date???

One of the great individuals who has commented on the late "life on the edge" blog has written a comment for my www.pontevista.blogspot.com blog stating that they received a snail mail announcement of a hearing concerning Ponte Vista to be held on June 26, 2008, beginning at 5:00 PM at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium auditorium.

I have Emails out to several individuals seeking more information about the hearing and you can be sure that I will certainly place more information about a hearing on my two-Ponte Vista related blogs, as soon as I learn more.

I can let everyone know that the auditorium has about 245 permanent seats and I would expect that Bob will pack the house as much as R Neighborhoods Are 1 will try and pack the house.

Much thanks goes to "mellonhead" for the comment left on Sunday.
